GH's game at Lee County was suspended in the bottom of the 4th inning, with GH up 2-1, but LC threatening with runners on 2nd and 3rd and 2 outs. The game will be continued at 4:00 on Friday May 8th.

Max Povse started for GH against LC's Dillon Fyre, with both pitchers effective early. GH scored 2 runs in the top of the 3rd, with 2 outs, Grant Shambley singled up the middle, and moved to 2nd on Joe Pistacchio's walk. Both runners scored on Povse's double to left center, GH up 2-0. But LC got a run back in the bottom of the inning, as LC also got a 2 out double with runners on 1st and 2nd, but RF Adam Boghosian made a very good play to get the ball back into the infield and only allow 1 run to score. GH up 2-1 after 3 innings.

The bad weather came in the bottom of the 4th, with LC at bat and runners at 2nd and 3rd, and 2 outs.

The game resumed today, with Adam Boghosian in to pitch for GH. Adam made one pitch to induce a fly out to end LC's threat in the 4th. But LC tied the game in the 5th via a single and a double, 2-2 after 5 innings.

GH's bats came alive in the 6th, scoring 4 runs, Povse ledoff with a walk (Jonathan Grudee running), who was sacrificed to 2nd by Boghosian, followed by a walk to Michael Sondag, and a single by Nolan Poythress to load the bases. Brent McLeroy singled to score 1, Matt Nusbaum's infield hit scored another, David Josam's long fly to CF scored the 3rd run, and Grant Shambley's single scored the 4th run. In the 7th GH added another 2 runs, as Sondag almost homered but settled for a double, and Nolan Poythress did hit a HR. Boghosian finished the game to get the win for GH.

GH moves to 11-2 in the conference, and 19-4 overall. GH has clinched at least a co-conference championship in the Tri-9.

Senior night is Monday May 11th against Athens Drive.
