Jeff Weygandt's Home Run makes it 7-0

With so much recent rain, it was nice to be able to get on the field again, and both teams could have expected to be a little "rusty" today. Being a non-conference game, it was the perfect opportunity to get back into the groove for two conference games being played this week. But GH showed no effects of the layoff, scoring in every inning, and shutting out Jordan in 5 innings, 10-0
Once again pitcher Daniel Sondag came up from JV, and really had an easy outing tonight, never really in trouble, inducing alot of popups and easy grounders. Sondag went 4 innings, striking out 2, allowing only 1 hit (who he later picked off on first), hit 2 batters, and walked another. Working with a big lead all night, Sondag cruised to his second win in as many outings. Joe Pistacchio pitched the 5th, and struck out the side, so a combined 1 hitter for Sondag/Pistacchio.
GH scored 4 in the first, 3 in the second, 1 in the third, and 2 in the fourth. This included 12 hits, 5 walks, and a hit batter. Jeff Weygandt had the big hit - a two run, Home Run in the 2nd inning, to make it 7-0 at the time. As there was no drama in this game, Eric Brady, Joe Pistacchio, Jeff Weygandt, and Brent McLeroy all went 2-3. Grant Shambley, David Josam, Max Povse, and Nolan Poythress each had 1 hit.
Big game tomorrow as Cary comes to play, GH moves to 8-1 on the year.
