Leesville completes sweep of Green Hope, winning on senior night, 10-4
2010 Seniors - Joe Pistacchio, David Josam, Wesley Clark, Adam Boghosian, Grant Shambley, Zach Munz

Senior night for Green Hope went very similar as other Tri-9 teams, as most lost these games this year. Green Hope used a variety of pitchers, most of whom were seeing their first action on the mound this year. However, there wasn't much run production, which could have helped the situation.
Leesville scored 2 runs in the first inning, as the leadoff man was hit by a pitch, followed by 2 singles, but an out at home, and a walk, loaded the bases with 1 out. Another single drove in 1 run, and a ground out scored the second run, Leesville up 2-0 after 1 inning. Leesville added a third run in the 2nd, a 1 out single, followed by a hit batter, and then a double had Leesville up 3-0 in the 2nd inning.

Meanwhile Green Hope had the bases loaded in the bottom of the second, after Zach Munz drilled the base umpire with a line shot for an infield hit. But a home to first double play, and a strikeout ended the inning with no runs scored. Green Hope scored a run in the 3rd, Max Povse was hit by a pitch, but forced at second by Grant Shambley's grounder to short. Shambley stole 2nd, and scored on Joe Pistacchio's single, Green Hope down 3-1 after 3 innings.

Leesville added 2 runs in the 4th inning, Green Hope came back with 1 in the bottom of the inning as Anthony Colantino ledoff with a single, Dave Josam running, who stole second, moved to third on a ground out, and scored on Wesley Clark's single, Green Hope down 5-2 after 4 innings.

Leesville added another run in the 5th inning, this time Green Hope came back with 2 runs as Shambley ledoff with a double, and scored on Yoder's single. Yoder went to 2nd when Pistacchio was hit by a pitch, to third on Prevost's ground out, and scored on Colantino's ground out, Green Hope down 6-4 after 5 innings.

That ended the scoring for Green Hope, Leesville added 4 more runs, 1 in the 6th and 3 in the 7th, the final score was Leesville winning 10-4. Will Yoder (0-1) started and took the loss, as Jonathan Grudee, Smith Prevost, and Wesley Clark all pitched and gave up 2 or 3 runs each. Even Grant Shambley pitched to a couple of batters to close out the game.

So it's on to the playoffs for Green Hope, they will be the Tri-9 #4 seed, so unlikely to get a home game in the playoffs.
