Green Hope comes back to win opener in Hilltop 7-3 over Glenn
Beautiful day to play baseball at the equally beautiful Chapel Hill High School field. Green Hope found itself down 3-0 early, but was able to score a combined 7 runs in the 5th and 6th innings to beat Glenn 7-3, in the opening game of the Hilltop Tournament. Joe Pistacchio started for Green Hope, and had a rough start to the game, but settled in later to pitch a solid game today.

Glenn started the scoring in the top of the first, after a strikeout, two singles had runners at the corners with 1 out. A double scored a run and had runners at 2nd and 3rd with 1 out. Green Hope's first hit of the game came in the bottom of the 3rd, a one out double down the left field line by Boghosian, but he did not score as Green Hope was unable to capitalize. Glenn up 3-0 after 3 innings.
Clark scores to tie the game on Yoder's single (left) while Josam's triple (right) drove in the 4th run of the inning

A crazy 5th inning started with a walk to Grant Shambley who went to second on a wild pitch and advanced to 3rd on another wild pitch. Boghosian eventually walked, and stole second, and a wild pitch scored Shambley moving Boghosian to 3rd. Wesley Clark and Joe Pistacchio both walked to load the bases with no one out. Will Yoder singled to right, scoring Boghosian and Clark (hustling in from 2nd). After a sacrifice bunt from Zach Munz, David Josam tripled to right centerfield to score 1, but Yoder was thrown out at home, putting Josam on 3rd. Three walks to Luca Scelsi, Brendon Lynch, and Shambley scored Josam from 3rd, making the score Green Hope 5-3 after 5 innings.
Pistacchio bunt induces a wild throw (left) with McKinley scoring all the way from 1st (right)

Green Hope added 2 more runs in the bottom of the 6th, Wesley Clark ledoff with a walk (Chandler McKinley running), followed by Pistacchio's bunt which went for a hit but a bad throw to first sent Pistacchio to 2nd and scored McKinley all the way from 1st. A single by Zach Munz to right scored Nestor Gomez (running for Pistacchio), making the score 7-3 after 6 innings.
Glenn mounted a threat in the 7th, having runners at 1st and 2nd, but Boghosian came in to relieve and end the rally with two strikeouts, and get the save, while Pistacchio (3-0) recorded the 7-3 win for Green Hope.
Green Hope moves to 4-4 on the year, and now plays Chapel Hill High School in the next round of the Hilltop Tourney.
